Summary
The Smithsonian Institution is the world’s largest museum, education, and research complex, with 21 museums and the National Zoo. This position is located in Smithsonian Facilities (FM), The Office of Facilities Mangement (OFM). The Office of Facilities Management (OFM) is responsible for providing the full range of buildign services through eight mantenance and operational zones.
Duties
The Facilities Services Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementation of all building/facilities services, laborer, custodial and materials handling operations within the zone/building.
In this position, you will:
Plan, direct, monitor and manage the operations of a zone/building in the day-to-day oversight of a large cleaning operation, labor and moving services, and special event coordination.
Perform the full range of supervisory functions for Building and Facilities Services, Custodial, Laborer, and Materials Handling staff.
Use a maintenance management computer software system (Facility Center) for timekeeping, purchasing, work order management and reporting.

Physical Requirements:
This position requires the physical ability to perform moderately heavy work including lifting and carrying heavy objects up to 50 lbs.; work outside in all weather conditions with exposure to dirt, dust, pollen and insects; climb ladders and stairs; and stand and walk for extended periods.
This position is for 2nd shift work from 11:00am - 7:30pm.

Qualifications

This position is not included in the bargaining unit.
