Summary About the position: The primary purpose of this position is responsible for assisting other specialists in the operation and maintenance of the Frame, Graphics, and Wood Shop located in the Arts & Crafts Center of the 35th Force Support Squadron Misawa AB. This is a FLEX category position; guaranteed ZERO hours per week. Military Spouse Preference IS NOT lost if selected for this position. This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results. Must be able to work an irregular tour of duty to include weekends, nights, and holidays. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have working experience or knowledge of the recreational activities and equipment, rules and procedures as relate to the particular activity in which they are assigned. Must be able to read, write, and communicate clearly and accurately in English. Must be able to solve simple arithmetic problems and read a tape measure. Subject to metal and wood splinters, adhesives, paint fumes, cuts, burns, and bruises. Condition(s) of Employment: Must be physically able to list and carry items up to and including 50 pounds. Must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 background check. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify. Additional information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. All Federal NAF employees are required by PL 104-134 to have salary payments made by electronic funds transfer/direct deposit. Probationary period may be required.
