Duties
Serves as the Area Engineer and Administrative Contracting Officer (ACO) with full responsibility for the administration, management, and technical oversight of construction programs within the Fort Bragg Area Office.
Apply full professional engineering knowledge together with practical knowledge of construction methods and techniques in accomplishing
assignments.
Direct the full range of field and office engineering functions, with overall responsibility for Area Office management, contract administration, quality
assurance, and budget monitoring.
Briefs installation/base commanders and other high-ranking officials on construction activities to include status, problem identification and problem
resolution.

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Incumbent of this position is required to possess a professional PE or Architect registration.
Travel is required up 30% of the time.
Field trips require use of hard hats, steel-toed boots, eye and/or ear protection, and involve using numerous special safety precautions; walking over rough and uneven surfaces.
Incumbent will be subject to climbing and using man-lifts; stooping, bending, and climbing on roofs and elevated work areas; standing for long lengths of time; or entering high voltage areas or other contaminated areas.
Must obtain and maintain a civilian driver’s license.
The incumbent is required to file an OGE Form 450, Financial Disclosure Report upon entering on duty in this position and annually thereafter

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: (1) Plan work to be accomplished, set priorities and prepare schedules for completion of work;(2) make decisions on work problems presented by subordinate supervisors; (3) assign work to subordinate offices based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of the assignments and the capabilities of employees; (6)review, evaluate and monitor actions of field supervisors exercising Administrative Contracting Officer authorities and subordinates exercising Authorized Representative of the Contracting Officer (COR)authorities.
