Duties
You will serve as a member of the entry control/vehicle inspection team which conducts private and commercial vehicles inspections.
You will contact the Security Forces to turn over the person suspected of issues that would be of an incriminating circumstance(s) and detain for questioning.
You will make sound decisions regarding vehicle entry control issues based on experience and good judgment.
You will check credentials of personnel or vehicles to control access to base posts, buildings, government property, or restricted areas.

Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
You must meet the qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm. You will need to maintain firearm proficiency.
This is a bargaining unit position.
You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with grooming standards
You will be required to pass a yearly physically and continue to be physically fit. Required to pass a Physical Agility Test prior to employment and annually thereafter.
Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals. You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
You will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Qualifications
FOR THE GS-5 - your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Work with a Federal, State, municipal, local, or private protective organization that involved the protection of property against such hazards as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass; or maintaining order and protecting life. Such experience must have provided a knowledge of protective systems and techniques. Acceptable experience includes service in the Armed Services or Coast Guard that involved the performance of guard duties on a regular or intermittent basis. For Security Guard positions in a hospital setting, experience as a psychiatric nursing assistant or a similar position safeguarding patients is qualifying.
FOR THE GS-4- your resume must also demonstrate:
Six months of general experience and 6 months of specialized security related experience, or two years of education/training above high school.
FOR THE GS-3- your resume must also demonstrate:
Six months of general experience. General experience is defined as administrative, technical, clerical, military, or other work that involved following written procedures, rules, or regulations in contacts with coworkers, supervisors, or members of the public to provide a service, respond to inquiries, or obtain information.

Work may includes assignment to train second, third or rotating shifts or weekend and holidays.
