Summary
This vacancy is for a Motor Vehicle Operator position in the Administrative and Customer Support Division located at the U.S. Census Bureau Headquarters in Suitland, Maryland. The Census Bureau is accessible from the Metro Rail Green Line - Suitland Station.
This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Motor Vehicle Operator, 5703-7, FPL None positions within the Census Bureau in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience.

Duties
Operates vehicles weighing more than 26, 000 pounds, such as trucks, lift trucks, box trucks with lifts, passenger vans, cargo vans, wheelchair buses, passenger shuttle buses.
Performs passenger transport to/from various locations. Must adhere to established dress code (white shirt/dark pants) while on official duty hours.
Transports equipment, supplies and cargo loading and unloading (up to 70 lbs.) in a safe and responsible manner.
Performs Operator maintenance on all vehicles assigned.

Qualifications
To qualify for the position of Motor Vehicle Operator, at WG-5703-7, you must meet the minimum and/or basic qualification requirements listed below:
Driver must possess a valid Class B Commercial driver's license with airbrake, and passenger endorsement.
Position is a Testing Designated Position (TED) subjecting applicant to random drug testing.
Required to work other than normal tours of duty (morning/late shifts) weekends and holidays.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
