Summary
About the Position: This position is located at OAK HARBOR BIRTHING CENTER Dir of Medicine Medical Readiness Center, Oak Harbor, Washington

Duties
Performs full range of diagnostic support duties such as vital signs such as but not limited to vital signs, vision
screening, weight, height, health risk assessment, deployment health screening, and neuro-cognitive
screening
Escort patients to provider office and/or examination room, assist provider as necessary and clean room after
patient and resort room for the next patient.
Ensure proper documentation of all procedures, screenings, and labs are entered in the health record and other
required DoD/BUMED approved tracking tools.
Participate in daily clinic routines that ensure good patient flow and continuity of care regarding prescribed
force health measures in individual medical readiness, preventive health assessments, and pre/post
deployment.
Clean and test equipment to ensure it is in functional order. Report to Head, Department any discrepancies
with department equipment.
Assist in relaying information to patients, answering their questions following predetermined guidelines,
consulting with provider and/or RN for outlier questions.
Assist in collateral duties and perform other duties as assigned.

Work is performed in a hospital/ clinic environment requiring normal safety precautions.
A favorable Tier 3 background investigation is required for all NCS positions with access to network systems.
Duties require extensive periods of standing and walking; regular and recurring bending, lifting, stooping,
stretching, and similar activities.
Required to obtain and Maintain a current, active, and accredited Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential from AAAMA or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential from AMT at the time of appointment.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. General and/or Specialized Experience: Six months of general experience (1) in any type of work that demonstrates the applicant's ability to perform the work of the position, or (2) experience that provided a familiarity with inputting patient data into an electronic health record system AND six months of specialized experience which includes receiving patients for treatment or preparing treatment area for medical procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-03).

Education: Two years of education above the high school level that included at least 12 semester hours in subjects related to the position, such as, biology, anatomy, physiology, chemistry, medical technology, nursing, or physics.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education by 60. Add the two percentages.
Education
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. Additional information
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
One year trial/probationary period may be required.
Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
