Summary You will serve as a Victim Advocate (SAPR) in the Fleet and Family Support Program. This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. You will be subject to and must be able to satisfy the overseas requirements of the 26Jul12 DODI 1400.25 V1230: http://www.esd.whs.mil/Portals/54/Documents/DD/issuances/140025/140025v1230.pdf This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport. May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations. You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment acknowledging receipt and understanding of the statement of living and working conditions for this location. Must comply with DoD Sexual Assault Advocate Certification Program (D-SAACP) policy guidelines and complete initial and ongoing certification training requirements. You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases. May serve in an “on call” duty status outside of normal work hours that includes remaining ready to perform work, carrying a cellphone and remaining in a reasonable call back radius, and regularly checking email to respond to crises. Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing sexual assault and sexual harassment advocacy services; 2) Developing and implementing crisis plans of actions and sexual assault assistance plans; and 3) Developing and coordinating SAPR prevention and public awareness campaign events. Education Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess: Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. or Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. or Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. Additional information The current workweek is Sunday through Thursday. Employees hired from continental U.S. will receive Sunday Premium Pay (computed at 25% of basic hourly rate, eight hours per week). This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled. Pay retention may be granted when certain conditions are met. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments. Dependent entry approval from Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command is required for all accompanied tours prior to extending the final job offer and prior to issuing Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders.
