- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- This is a Defense Acquisition Workforce position that requires a Contracting, Foundational acquisition certification. The incumbent has 36 months to earn this certification.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
Qualifications
1) Applying a wide range of contracting methods and contract types to plan and carry out both pre-award and post-award procurement actions;
2) Assisting technical specialists/customers in the preparation of statements of work, planning of procurement strategies, and identifying potential contractors and/or sources;
3) Applying contracting policies and procedures, negotiation techniques, and technical requirements to negotiate procurement of supplies and services; and
4) Administering contracts, such as firm fixed-price, fixed-price with re-determination provisions, cost reimbursement, or contracts with incentive provisions.

Education
Applicants must meet the following Basic Education Requirement of the Department of Defense Qualification Standard for Contracting Positions:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees.
NOTE: The education requirement listed above applies only to individuals entering DoD GS-1102 positions on or after October 1, 2000. Current civilian personnel in DoD who occupied GS-1102 positions or contracting positions with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000 are exempt from meeting this requirement. Current military members who occupied a similar occupational specialty to the GS (or equivalent) 1102 or before September 30, 2000 are also exempt from meeting this requirement.

Additional information
This is a Defense Acquisition Workforce position that requires a Contracting, Foundational acquisition certification. The incumbent has 36 months to earn this certification. Incumbent must obtain and maintain certification in accordance with DoD Instruction 5000.66. Acquisition Workforce (AWF) members must complete 80 hours of Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) every two (2) years, in accordance with DoDI 5000.66.
This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
Several vacancies may be filled.
Pay retention may be granted when certain conditions are met.
A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
