The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a security clerk utilized as an escort for visitors such as: contractors, host-base maintenance personnel, and/or associated repair maintenance as required.

Duties
1. Responsible for facilitating entry to the building for all visitors; including (but not limited to) maintenance/services, conferences, meetings, and/or possible Distinguished Visitors (DVs).
2. Instructs visitors on security requirements especially those relating to the necessity of wearing badges
3. Checks the area before entering with uncleared personnel to ensure that classified material is properly protected
4. Answers telephones and receives visitors, giving routine information and referring caller to appropriate staff members for specific information

All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.

Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.

The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
Polygraph: Incumbent is required to undergo a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the general experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.
This is a GG-02 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-02 duties for the "Technical Administrative Support" work category are at the "Entry/Development" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-02 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess three (3) months of general experience. Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Knowledge of the organization and the facility to give routine information and make appropriate referrals. Knowledge of security procedures to ensure those being escorted enter only authorized, secured areas. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of security procedures and requirements to carry out escort duties.
2. Knowledge of security policy/procedures to maintain control of classified material is required.
3. Working knowledge of facility layout and is required to assist division in daily duties.
4. Knowledge of administration duties and computer word processing to perform training and assist division.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONT'D:
1. Position is designated special-sensitive and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A nondisclosure agreement must be signed.
2. Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short-notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
