Summary About the position: This position is located at the Mountain View Lodge. This is a NAF (Non-Appropriated Fund) position assigned to the 31st Force Support Squadron at Aviano AB, Italy. Scheduled tour of duty will require evenings, weekends, and holiday work hours. Learn more about this agency Requirements Conditions of Employment This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results. This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special occasions. This position requires the incumbent to possess or maintain a valid state Driver's License to operate vehicles. This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screen and random testing thereafter. This position requires the completion of a pre-employment physical examination. Qualifications Who May Apply: Open to everyone. Legal US residents must possess a social security number and be citizens of a NATO country. The 31ST Force Support Squadron is not currently providing logistical support. Applicants must provide proper documentation indicating they are already a supported member of Aviano AB. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience that demonstrates the ability to perform minor plumbing, painting, electrical and carpentry duties. Experience could have been gained in any type of "handyman" with duties in the area required. Must have a knowledge of proper tools used in the different areas of the maintenance section. Experience must have demonstrated ability to work independently, with little need for direct supervision. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify. Additional information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation. All Federal NAF employees are required by PL 104-134 to have salary payments made by electronic funds transfer/direct deposit. Probationary period may be required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from hiring preferences and priority consideration eligible.
