Job Description

Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Duties Serves as a Shift Supervisor for a guard force shift consisting of subordinate Security Guards who are responsible for providing 24 hour maximum or extraordinary security measures against theft, fire, accident, pilferage, trespass, sabotage. Makes decisions according to the nature of perceived threat by the nature of hazards imposed by local terrain, and/or weather or other conditions that affect lighting, communications, and the ability to observe or pursue violators. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work. Requirements Conditions of employment Able to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance Able to obtain and maintain U.S. driver license Pre-employment physical is required Drug Test is required Must meet requirements of Lautenberg Amendment CPR certification is required Must be able to work shift/weekends/holidays Must meet Individual Reliability Program IAW AR 190-56 Must wear PPP Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized experience is defined as: Makes decisions according to the nature of perceived threat, ensuring the guard force understands their immediate role in protection of government and personal property. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07) or equivalent. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
