Learn more about this agency Duties You will perform work involved in the repair and maintenance of a wide range of Military Tactical Equipment found in the Exercise Support Division. You will assist higher graded Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanics in the disassembling, repairing, and assembling of major systems, components, and operating mechanisms. You will make repairs that can be accomplished by removing, adjusting; or replacing defective or worn parts and components. You will complete Limited Technical Inspections (LTI) in order to locate improperly functioning parts for repair or replacement. You will comply with appropriate repair methods, technical manuals, specifications and procedures. The employee will assist the journeyman level mechanic to test the final product and make final adjustments as assigned. Requirements Conditions of employment Must be a US Citizen. Qualifications This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of a Heavy Mobile Equipment Repairer without no more than normal supervision such as: Perform common tasks such as: repair and maintain a wide range of equipment and vehicles and remove, adjust, and/or replace defective or worn parts and components of said vehicles.
