Job Description
Summary
This position is located at the Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam MWR Administration offices. The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative and clerical support to the MWR Director, as well as multiple facilities throughout JBPHH. This position is open to the public, applicants residing on the island of Oahu only.
Duties
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides administrative and clerical support to the MWR Director, Deputy Director and/or equivalent.
Receives and screens telephone calls and visitors, determines those which can be answered personally, and refers others as appropriate.
Assembles background materials, reports and statistical data pertaining to meetings, briefings, etc.
Prepares detail or summary reports of meetings.
Makes arrangements for meetings including space and time and notifies those who are to attend of the topics to be discussed.
Reviews incoming and outgoing correspondence for proper format, conformance with procedural instructions, grammar, and typographical accuracy.
Prepares and types correspondence using established procedures.
Edits correspondence for correct spelling, grammar, clarity of expression, accuracy and consistency of facts and appropriate tone.
Reads incoming correspondence, publications, regulations and directives to identify points of interest for the Director and staff.
Gathers data and compiles reports as needed.
Establishes and maintains superior's office files.
Handles matters of a confidential and sensitive nature.
Makes travel arrangements for Director and prepares travel vouchers and reports.
Support Purchases and Purchase requests.
May provide advice to secretaries in subordinate branches concerning such matters as reports and correspondence.
Maintains the Director's calendar.
Performs other duties as assigned

Must pass all applicable records and background check.

Must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National.

A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.
Qualifications

A qualified candidate possesses the following:
Three years of progressively responsible office experience which demonstrated possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties outlined above.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and to deal with people.
Must be skilled in the use of a personal computer, various software programs.
Must be a qualified typist.
Education
This job does not have an education qualification requirement.

Salary is dependent on experience and/or education.
Some positions have special requirements. Selectee may be required to complete a one (1) year probationary period. Participation in Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer within the first 30 days of employment is required. We utilize E-Verify to confirm selectee's eligibility to work in the United States.
