Gastroenterologist needed in Michigan City, IN 1 hour to Chicago IL Full time, permanent Physician Network is seeking a Board Eligible/ Board Certified Gastroenterologist to meet the growing demand for gastroenterology in Michigan City, IN. Join a busy, established practice with 5 other physicians and multiple advanced practice providers. WHAT WE NEED: Ideal candidate will have ERCP experience, an interest in Hepatology and a strong focus on clinical excellence and patient satisfaction. Candidate will display exceptional interpersonal skills and desire to develop strong ties with the community and build long-lasting relationships with patients. Physician will need to work collaboratively with existing medical staff to coordinate and deliver the highest quality of patient care. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT: Office Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m. Physician Schedule: 3 - 4 half days in clinic, 3 - 4 half days in surgery, 1 full day off Physician Call 1:5 Physician takes 1 full week call (Friday 8:00 a.m. Friday 8:00 a.m.), no clinic during call week only hospital procedures and front-line call coverage Call Friday to Thursday, Rotating Holidays Average Patient Volumes: Half Day Clinic 12 15, Half Day Surgery 8 10 Practice shares 3 RNs, dedicated MA support for every physician, 2 surgery schedulers in-house Outreach Required: Clinics in LaPorte, Chesterton, Valparaiso (all within 30 minutes commute) Potential Virtual Visits Shared collaboration between physician for APPs in group Hospital based Nurse Practitioner sees new consults and rounding ahead of physicians Clinic based Nurse Practitioner Strong mentorship available from senior physician leadership Strong referral base: On average 75 -100 per week for general GI In-Network Oncology Services offering full spectrum, wrap around services Onsite Equipment: BRAVO, Pill Cam, Fibroscan, HD Motility and EndoFlip located at the Surgicenter Advanced endoscopist in the group offering EUS and a wide range of pancreaticobiliary interventions.
