Summary About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency. It is located at the Lyster Army Health Clinic on Fort Rucker, Alabama within the Department of Quality Management. The primary purpose is to develop goals, policies and procedures, and provide guidance, and necessary to accomplish the mission of the credentialing and privileging program. The tour of duty is 0730 to 1615 Monday through Friday with weekend and holidays off. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Duties Interpret directives and research reference materials, regulations, and standard procedures concerning the credentialing of HealthCare Providers. Coordinate credentialing actions, including assisting the Coordinator in making selective assignments to credentialing personnel. Develop, revise credential program policies and procedures to meet program requirements. Prepare statistical reports pertinent to the credentialing process. Maintain a variety of files and records pertaining to sensitive and non-sensitive correspondence and credentialing privileging process. Ensure routine and adverse privileging actions are current and accurate. Requirements Conditions of employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. A one-year probationary period. This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations. A Personnel Security Investigation is required. Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of Specialized experience which includes performing credentialing/privileging processes related to clerical and administrative support duties within a medical treatment facility; such as monitoring adverse action cases; performing risk management assessments; evaluating medical education and requirements for licensure and certification registration applications; processing of credentials and privileging documents; and utilizing healthcare system databases to enter and retrieve data. OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
