About the Position: The U.S. Military Academy, West Point, NY is an academic institution located in the Hudson River Valley, 50 miles from New York City. The historic site is the oldest continuously occupied military post in America. West Point is a self-contained city with housing, a Department of Public Works, libraries, hospital, fire department, chapels, and restaurants. In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. GS-07: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) assisting in creating, curating, and/or managing published content for an organization; and 2) utilizing media software systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
GS-08: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) assisting in creating, curating, and/or managing published content for an organization; 2) assisting with writing, editing, and/or crafting content for an organization's social media sites; and 3) utilizing media software systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
GS-09: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) assisting in creating, curating, and/or managing published content for an organization; 2) assisting with writing, editing, and/or crafting content for an organization's social media sites; 3) utilizing media software systems; and, 4) determining administrative preparations and/or requirements for departmental conferences and/or special activities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
Term Appointment NTE - Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 13 months. Term appointments may be extended beyond of six 6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.
