Summary
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a NURSE CASE MANAGER, Position Description Number T5637P01 and is part of the LA ARNG STATE SURGEON OFFICE, National Guard.

- Must possess or be able to obtain the proper clearance type and level within one year of appointment according to DoD Personnel Security Program Management Directives.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain credentialing, privileging through the National Guard's Centralized Credentialing and Privileging Preparation Board.
- Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with Chain of Command, coworkers, and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
- May be required to travel by car, in military and/or commercial aircraft, and by other means of transportation as appropriate to perform temporary duty assignments.
- May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime or comp time may be required.
- This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration.
Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess understanding of the principles and concepts defined by a practical knowledge of health services activities such as, administration, managed care, human resource management, logistics management, patient administration, medical manpower, medical facility management.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess a minimum of One year (12 months) on-the-job experience at the GS-09 level; AND/OR at least Thirty-six (36) months experience of basic principles and practices related to the management of occupational health care delivery systems; have experiences in planning for and the execution of state occupational health and industrial hygiene programs; have at least six months experience in one of the medical service core functions, which are prescribed as: Health facilities, health plan management, medical resources, health care information, management and information technology, medical logistics, and medical readiness; have demonstrated skills in written and oral communication; have at least six months experience, education, and/or training which provided working knowledge of the principles and practices related to the management of occupational health care delivery systems.
Education
You must provide transcripts and/or other documentation as proof to support your Educational claims, and receive credit to meet the Education requirements for this position.
Must possess a successful completion of a diploma, associateโฆand at least one full year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to the GS-9 grade level); OR have successfully completed and have obtained either a diploma or associate degree with one full year of nursing experience, or a bachelor's degree from a professional nursing educational program.
