LPN - Correctional Medicine

Summary: Ref #: M-LPN-292292 Profession: Licensed Practical Nurse Specialty: Correctional Medicine Job Type: Contract/Travel Start Date: ASAP Location: Cleveland, OH Shift Schedule: 7a-7:30p Shift Type: Nights Rate: $1,548/36-hours Requirements: Active LPN/LVN license in state of practice. Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience (correctional, LTC, clinic, or med-surg preferred). BLS certification required. Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills. Ability to work safely in a secure environment and manage patients with complex medical and behavioral needs. Responsibilities: Perform basic nursing assessments and monitor patients’ health status. Administer medications, treatments, immunizations, and perform wound care per protocol. Assist with intake screenings, triage, and routine health evaluations. Respond to urgent/emergent medical situations within the correctional setting. Document all care accurately in the health record and report changes to the RN or provider. Support chronic disease management, including diabetes, hypertension, and mental health needs. Follow infection control, facility rules, and safety/security procedures at all times. Collaborate with RNs, physicians, mental health providers, and correctional officers. Educate patients on medications, treatments, and self-care as appropriate. Assist with daily clinical tasks such as vital signs, specimen collection, EKGs, and scheduling care.
