Job Description
Summary
Corrections professionals who foster a humane and secure environment and ensure public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities.
Duties
Prepares Training Authorizations for participants, providing the participant a list of all relevant documents and reports for hotel accommodations, class requirements, travel instructions, per diem rates, funding codes, and other information for participation in training at the Management and Specialty Training Center.
Assists the Training Specialists, Training Program Manager, Management and Specialty Training Center Director, and program staff in developing and implementing goals and plans for the operations of the Training Program Department.
Conducts maintenance and control of all staff training transcripts and other training records and files, and assists with ensuring that all reporting requirements are met.
Performs routine/general maintenance, first tier troubleshooting on reproduction equipment, training equipment, using technical manuals, user guides, and vendor training.

Qualifications
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements:
Education:
As a general rule, education is not creditable above GL-05 for most positions covered by this standard; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position.
OR
Experience:
You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA’s) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled.
Some examples of this qualifying experience are:
Experience with Microsoft Word/Excel and Adobe Acrobat Programs.
Experience with file management.
Experience with managing multiple products at once and establishing priorities.
Experience developing memorandums and communicating with executive staff.
Experience with computer base applications reports/rosters/wait list.
Experience with equipment scanner/operate technical reproduction material/copiers.
Experience with building training schedules based on need and can add a class to the schedule.
If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as the number of hours worked per week) spent in activities.

Special Conditions of Employment Section:
Appointment is subject to satisfactory completion of a pre-employment and panel interview, urinalysis, physical, and background investigation.

Successful completion of Introduction to Correctional Techniques is a condition of employment.

Current Federal Law Enforcement Employees:
This is a non-law enforcement clerical or administrative support position (one-grade interval). Individuals selected for these positions will lose law enforcement coverage and will need to return to a position with "primary" law enforcement coverage to regain coverage.
For non-law enforcement positions, the Fair Chance Act prohibits specific inquiries concerning an applicant’s criminal or credit background unless the hiring agency has made a conditional offer of employment to the applicant.
