Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a EQUAL EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST, Position Description Number T5420P01 and is part of the Kansas National Guard. May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Work is typically performed in an adequately lighted and climate controlled office. Travel is required for the purpose of meeting with management, conducting desk audits, organizational reviews, attending national workshops, symposiums, etc. The incumbent of this position description must have, at a minimum, a completed National Agency Check (NAC) prior to position assignment. Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise. Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have the experience gained in administrative, professional, technical, investigative, or other responsible work to perform the following duties Analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; Plan and organize work; and Communicate effectively orally and in writing. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Musthave the specialized experience equivalent to at least a GS 07, contributing to the development and implementation of the National Guard Bureau Equal Opportunity Program at the State level, assisting in writing the Affirmative Action plan covering both short- and long-range goals and objectives and Assisting in the management of the State EEO complaints processing system. Physical Demands: Regular and recurring work is performed sitting at a desk except for occasional brief visits to worksites. No special demands are required to perform the work. Work Environment: The work generally is performed in an office setting except for occasional visits to protected areas of industrial worksites involving everyday risks and discomforts and normal safety precautions. Education at the graduate level in an accredited college or university meets the requirements for positions at GS-7 through GS-11. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
