Summary About the Position: This position is located at the Physical Medicine and Rehab department at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Learn more about this agency Duties Assist in the development and implementation of effective patient care systems to achieve practice compliance with policies, manuals and Operations Orders for the department. Manage the information technology systems and applications used in the department which includes productivity applications, electronic communication, Electronic Health Records and population management. Perform healthcare administration and business practices to implement strategies to maximize the department’s capacity for enrollment in support of the organization performance plan. Use data from health system databases in order to monitor, trend and analyze, objectives and objective performance measures to include enrollments, patient satisfaction, quality measures, access, productivity and primary care manager continuity. Work with customer survey tools such as the Interactive Customer Evaluation, the Military Health System (MHS-TRICARE Outpatient Satisfaction Survey) and Satisfaction Survey. Requirements Conditions of employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination or must provide a recognized exemption. Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series (Hepatitis, etc.) This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time. This position may be designated "Mission Essential." In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations. Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: assisting with the administrative operations or programs in a health care setting; reviewing administrative policies; and navigating healthcare information systems to support workflow efficiency. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
