Job Description

This is a temporary appointment. Appointment to this position will not convey permanent status and will be for a period not-to-exceed 1039 hours in a service year. Duties Assists local application/ database administrator in performing tasks including password resets and user training. Personal contacts are with internal and external customers, in person and in writing, to provide general natural resources information and/or response to customer inquiries. Maintain central filling system with reviewing, researching, locating, and monitoring inventory usages of all official forms. Provide assistance in researching and locating all reference information and all central filling system. Prepare documentation of all necessary transfers and prescribed records to Federal Record Center. Prepare edits and finalize all correspondence for office employees. Distribute to appropriate personal by tracking and maintaining records. Requirements Conditions of employment U.S. Citizenship is required. Qualifications In order to be rated as qualified for this position, we must be able to determine that you meet the qualification requirements - please be sure to include this information in your resume. For the GS-06 level: You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: performing clerical administrative duties; working with the public and providing customer service; skill in computer software programs. For the GS-07 level: You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: drafting and editing a variety of business correspondence using proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation; coordinating travel, meetings, and conferences; handling cash transactions; assisting with managing an office budget; and the ability to use office automation/software programs. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement. Physical Demands: The work is typically sedentary. Some work may require periods of walking, standing, bending, or driving a motor vehicle. The incumbent may frequently lift relatively light boxes, materials, and supplies and/or carry file folders, copied materials, books, and other similar materials. Work Environment: Work is typically located in an adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated office environment. The work environment may involve everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, mail distribution centers, meeting and training rooms, libraries, or motor vehicles.
