3D Exhibition Design Automation Lead
Job Description
Team: Design
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a 3D Exhibition Design Automation Lead in Australia.
This is a forward-thinking hybrid role at the intersection of 3D exhibition design and AI-driven workflow innovation. You will help reshape how exhibition stands and spatial environments are conceptualized, designed, and delivered by integrating advanced AI tools into real production pipelines. Working across creative, technical, and operational teams, you will translate client briefs into scalable design systems and automated workflows. The role combines hands-on design expertise with systems thinking, process engineering, and training responsibilities. You will experiment, validate, and implement AI solutions that enhance speed, accuracy, and buildability of exhibition projects. This position is ideal for someone who wants to redefine traditional design practices through intelligent automation and structured design systems.
Accountabilities:
This role focuses on building, testing, and implementing AI-assisted design workflows that improve exhibition design efficiency, quality, and scalability while ensuring outputs remain production-ready and commercially viable.
- Lead the research, testing, and deployment of AI tools for exhibition design, 3D concept development, and design automation workflows
- Develop AI-assisted systems that transform client briefs into practical exhibition stand concepts, layouts, and visual presentations
- Use AI to accelerate ideation processes including moodboards, design narratives, rendering prompts, and concept iterations
- Explore and integrate AI capabilities within CAD, Revit, BIM, SketchUp, Rhino, and related 3D production environments
- Build structured knowledge bases covering modular systems, rental inventory, production constraints, and design standards
- Create prompt libraries, workflow templates, SOPs, QA frameworks, and design documentation systems
- Evaluate AI tools critically, documenting performance, limitations, and practical use cases
- Collaborate with designers, production teams, project managers, estimators, and fabrication specialists to ensure feasibility
- Train teams on effective, consistent, and responsible use of AI tools in design workflows
- Establish safeguards to ensure AI outputs are buildable, accurate, and aligned with budget and technical constraints
- Contribute to a long-term roadmap for scalable AI-driven exhibition design and production systems
- Strong professional experience in 3D exhibition design, spatial design, architectural design, industrial design, or experiential environments
- Demonstrated hands-on use of AI tools in creative production, design iteration, automation, or workflow optimization
- Experience working with CAD, BIM, or 3D software such as Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, Grasshopper, Blender, or similar tools
- Ability to create structured prompts, prompt libraries, and repeatable AI-assisted design workflows
- Strong understanding of production realities including materials, fabrication, modular systems, lighting, graphics, and installation constraints
- Experience developing design documentation such as technical drawings, production packs, or build-ready files
- Proven ability to evaluate AI outputs critically for accuracy, feasibility, and commercial viability
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across creative, technical, and operational teams
- Experience training or mentoring designers on tools, systems, or workflows is highly valuable
- Comfortable working in experimental environments, testing emerging AI tools and translating them into practical systems
- Strong plus: experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Midjourney, Firefly, or similar platforms
- Strong plus: experience with parametric design, generative design, or automation tools such as Dynamo or Python-based workflows
- Strong plus: familiarity with modular exhibition systems such as Aluvision, BeMatrix, or Octanorm
- Opportunity to lead a pioneering AI transformation within the exhibition design and events industry
- Fully remote or hybrid-friendly working arrangement (based on project needs)
- Competitive compensation aligned with senior-level specialist and innovation roles
- High-impact role shaping how design and production teams adopt AI technologies
- Exposure to large-scale exhibition, brand activation, and experiential projects across multiple markets
- Collaborative environment spanning design, production, estimating, and installation teams
- Strong focus on innovation, experimentation, and professional growth in AI-driven design systems
- Career development opportunities in leadership, systems design, and digital transformation initiatives
- Access to modern tools and continuous learning in AI, automation, and advanced design workflows
- Work culture driven by values of Courage, Curiosity, Selflessness, Judgement, and Communication
