3D MultiPlatform Developer

The Software Enterprise Division at Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) seeks a highly qualified 3D developer to design, implement, and/or improve new and existing 3D visualization capabilities in a multi-platform environment for the Intelligence and Defense communities. The team is developing enterprise-level decision support tools used by intelligence analysts and warfighters that rely on 3D geospatial data visualization and content creation. 3D MultiPlatform Developer Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have an active interest in applying 3D concepts to develop desktop, web, and mobile applications. The candidate should be familiar with rendering 3D content and understand best practices of 3D visualization development and the principles of continuous integration and delivery. The candidate should demonstrate a hands-on approach to problem-solving and must be willing to actively participate in the evaluation of algorithms and system performance.

3D MultiPlatform Developer Required Qualifications:

• US Citizenship (Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information)
• BS in Computer Science or a related field with 2-4 years relevant experience
• Strong foundation in software development and experience with Python, Java, and/or C++
• Experience with 3D graphics libraries such as OpenSceneGraph or BabylonJS and knowledge of graphics APIs like OpenGL, WebGL, Vulkan, or WebGPU
• Proficient with 3D mathematics including linear algebra (vector math, matrices, quaternions)

3D MultiPlatform Developer Desired Qualifications:

• PhD or MS in Computer Science or a related field
• Experience with web-based 3D graphics (WebGL, BabylonJS, ThreeJS, etc)
• Experience with software design and architecture, especially creating modern architectures for rendering 3D content
• Experience building and deploying multiplatform software (WebAssembly, ElectronJS, Babylon Native, QtWebEngine)
• Interest in augmented/mixed reality and mobile 3D development
