Position Overview

Under the guidance and supervision of the Company’s Controller, the successful candidate will be responsible for the completion of various accounting and reporting activities related to sales, cost of goods sold, inventory, and other expense and general ledger accounts to ensure that GAAP and internal accounting requirements are maintained. Responsibilities also include preparation of various on-going and ad-hoc analyses and reports, meeting month-end closing requirements through preparation of journal entries, preparation of audit schedules, and communicating with company personnel, including external auditors. 

What you'll do

  • Full month-end close cycle, including recording journal entries, reconciliations and analysis in assigned areas.
  • Working closely with other departments to ensure proper recording of journal entries.
  • Manage account reconciliations including balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare Financial statements
  • Review general ledger account balances and perform analytical procedures to correct, as needed; prepare accurate and timely journal entries.
  • Prepares fixed asset schedules and reviews accounts for capitalization.
  • Assists with the month-end and year-end closing process.
  • Assist in internal and external audit requests related to quarterly reviews and annual audit
  • Assist with other projects and responsibilities as needed
  • Maintain the integrity of the General Ledger and ensure that financial and management reporting is timely, accurate, consistent and complete
  • Maintain all accounting department records files
  • Assist in development, documentation, implementation and enforcement of policies and procedures and reporting activities to improve departmental efficiency
  • Prepare other analyses and reports, as directed
  • All other duties as assigned

Who you are

  • 4+ years of accounting experience.
  • Understanding and knowledge of GAAP
  • Fixed Assets experience highly preferred.
  • Prior audit experience is a plus.
  • Strong of MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Detail oriented and highly organized.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to high quality work product.
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
