As a Site Reliability Engineer you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by supporting health care software and services used by medical professionals around the world. You'll get to ensure the stability and availability of our services. You'll have the opportunity to improve our efficiency in deploying, monitoring, and testing these services. And you'll do all this as part of a team of dedicated professionals.

• Applies innovative and advanced technical skills to provide support and services to expand opportunities and reduce risks.
• Provides support on products to clients and/or customers to expand opportunities.
• Analyzes and interprets results of technical work.
• Recommends and develops solutions for technical and product problems.
• Communicates results of assigned and self-initiated technical tasks to the respective business group and/or appropriate technical community.
• Communicates relevant findings to external parties/customers as appropriate. Prepares reports, presentations, and other written documents.
• May assist in the development and mentoring of other technical employees, contract workers, tech aides, etc. May be responsible for leading others.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university

OR

• High School Diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution and a minimum of fourteen (14) years in operations support or application development

• Ten (10) combined years of operations support and/or application development

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Experience working with AWS products like EC2, RDS, S3, CloudFront, etc.
• Experience with SQL and working knowledge of a variety of databases (Oracle, SQL Server, Mongo, PostgreSQL, InfluxDB)
• Strong scripting skills (Python, shell, etc.)
• Experience with virtual environments and containerization (Docker, etc.)
• Experience with cloud orchestration and automation tools (Ansible, Kubernetes, etc.)
• Experience working with monitoring and log aggregation tools (Logstash, Elasticsearch, Kibana, Graphite, Grafana)
• Experience administering and managing Linux environments
• Experience with build systems, CI, and CD (Weaveworks Flux, Jenkins, GoCD)
• Experience with version control tools (mainly Git; Mercurial also a plus)
• Excellent understanding and working knowledge of Java
• Familiarity with Windows Server
• Experience in maintaining and documenting standards, processes, and procedures for production systems
• Solid understanding of software development lifecycle
• Comfortable working in an Agile environment
• Attention to detail
• Enthusiasm and a sense of humor
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to communicate with team members both local and remote
• Ability to solve problems in a logical, methodical, and time efficient manner
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills across different levels of the stack

Travel: Occasional travel may be required

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Location: Pittsburgh, PA or Remote

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
