3rd Party Risk Management Associate
ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT
Assist 3rd Party Risk Management in administering the VyStar 3rd Party Risk Management Program. Apply the defined risk management strategy to identify and evaluate emerging and existing 3rd party risk drivers, implement and review risk management assessments, due diligence, ongoing monitoring in accordance with the 3rd Party Risk Management Program.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
3rd Party Risk Monitoring/Reporting: Assist in providing independent, enterprise-wide dashboard reports, trend analysis and periodic ancillary reports on 3rd party ongoing monitoring activities and metrics.
Risk Intelligent Culture: Assist in fostering an increased understanding and awareness of business owners' responsibilities for risk management activities as part of their daily decision-making processes and procedural guidance. In concert with risk management peers, provide advice and consult with business owners to support more information risk-based thinking and decision-making skills.
3rd Party Risk Management Function: Consistently perform operational practices to sufficiently manage and protect VyStar from inherent 3rd party risks and adverse tolerance levels.
- Assist in the adherence to VyStar's 3rd Party Risk Management Program
- Review and maintenance of 3rd party relationships for completeness and accuracy
- The ability to collaborate, interact and communicate with all parties including from third-party relationships
- Ability to manage and maintain third-party's ongoing monitoring activities, in conjunction with the 3rd Party Risk Management's risk matrix stratification
- Maintain ongoing monitoring records in a complete, accurate and timely manner
- Provide departmental support to the 3rd Party Risk Management team
- Support business units in their 3rd party risk management monitoring needs
- Report to 3rd Party Risk Management of 3rd party risk monitoring activity exceptions and concerns
- Support the 3rd Party Risk Management team's preparation and involvement in internal and external audit engagements
- Provide guidance and support to Business Owners on the 3rd Party Risk Management Ongoing Monitoring Program including training on the 3rd party risk management system
- Aid with the remediation of issues and escalation matters in relation to the 3rd party risk management monitoring framework with internal stakeholders, external stakeholders, and subject matter experts.
- Ability to identify, troubleshoot and escalate monitoring program exceptions
- Perform ongoing monitoring ratings and reviews using sound judgment and reasoning
- Ensure efforts are efficiently and effectively used to focus on key 3rd party risk assessment, identification and mitigation activities on an ongoing basis as well as, maintain compliance with regulatory requirements
- Review and maintain departmental procedures relating to the Ongoing Monitoring program in concert with regulatory guidelines
- Review risk assessments, questionnaires and ongoing monitoring documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Ensure various timelines and reporting requirements are consistently met
- Draft correspondence as necessary in a professional and well-written manner
- Consistently follow and apply formally documented operational practices (e.g., policies, procedures, etc.) to safeguard confidential information and to support the highest level of ethical standards
- Obtain and maintain necessary training to keep current on the discipline of 3rd Party Risk Management
EXPERIENCE:
Maintain an understanding of VyStar's overall business plan objectives. Annually, obtain necessary continuing education hours to maintain professional certifications, as applicable, and to continuously enhance individual knowledge. Ensure individual knowledge and skills are properly aligned to effectively support the 3rd Party Risk Management Program as well as, VyStar in achieving its strategic goals and objectives and in meeting the needs of a growing and diverse organization.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- The individual should be detailed oriented and possess analytical skills.
EDUCATION:
- High School diploma required
- Previous financial institution experience a plus
