Duties
You will install the operating system and all required and optional authorized software applications on all end user computing devices.
You will track, manage, and report equipment inventories, life cycle management of hardware, software, and equipment disposal in accordance with applicable DoD policies and directives.
You will prevent unauthorized access to sensitive information.
You will initiate, track, and reconcile Information Technology Purchase Requests.

Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Information Assurance Training (IAM) Level II certification.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
This position requires the employee to carry light items including parts and equipment weighing of up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:1. Attention to Detail2. Customer Service3. Oral Communication4. Problem Solving
In addition to experience demonstrating the four competencies above, must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties:
1) Troubleshooting systems to resolve interoperability problems regarding Command, Control, Communications, and Computers (C4) related programs and services;
2) Developing internal and external policies and procedures to support the command's enterprise strategic plan;
3) Analyzing difficult and complex system and end user problems to determine required resolution; and
4) Performing server administrative tasks (i.e. analyzing/installing server upgrades, performing server diagnostics, monitoring server performance) to optimize system reliability and maintainability.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
Education
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess.
The following education can be substituted for experience:
Master's Degree or equivalent graduate degree
OR
2 full years of progressively higher level Graduate Education leading to a Master's Degree or equivalent graduate degree
