Duties
You will perform account maintenance and accounting support work; examine, verify and maintain and reconcile accounts and accounting data, prepare and analyze reports.
You will examine documents for accuracy to ensure compliance with regulations for goods and services, fulfilling contractual obligations.
You will review to determine signature authentication and correct processing codes.
You will review and determine pay, payroll records maintenance and completion of reports pertaining to civilian employees of the Federal Government.
You will post, examine, balance, and extract data from records to prepare reports.
You will perform work to establish, maintain, correct and close pay accounts; i.e. in and out processing, pay inquires, reviewing pay debts, and adjustments.
You will perform technician work in support of budget analysis and administration such as maintain ledgers, compiling, consolidating, checking and arranging funding data.

Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
This is a bargaining unit position.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card to make official government purchases for goods and services.
Qualifications
For the GS-06: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing accounting systems, standard accounting codes, classifications and terminology and the ability to apply various accounting methods and techniques; 2) Enforcing procedures and regulations required to examine invoices, voucher, and related documents; and 3) Applying civilian pay and leave rules, regulations procedures, programs and systems, and civilian personnel rules and regulations that affect pay. NOTE: All experience must be fully demonstrated in your resume to be considered for the position.
For the GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing financial management support (e.g., sorting financial documents, maintaining files, and/or identifying data discrepancies) to support accounting, budgetary, or payroll functions.

Starting salaries:
GS-05 Step 01 $46,610 to Step 10 $60,593
GS-06 Step 01 $51,957 to Step 10 $67,543

If selected below the full performance level, you may be noncompetitively promoted to the next higher grade level after meeting all regulatory requirements, and upon the recommendation of management. Promotion is neither implied nor guaranteed.
