Summary
This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and located at the JBSA Fort Sam Houston Golf Course.
This is a flexible category position with guaranteed 00 hrs. per week. Employees appointed to a Flexible category position are not eligible for benefits.

Duties
Operates a full service bar. Mixes and serves all types of alcoholic or nonalcoholic drinks to order, following a variety of established recipes. Beverages include but are not limited to, Margaritas, for which no pre-mix is available, Zombies, Singapore Slings, etc.
Delivers drinks to bar waiters, or serve directly to patrons. Receives payments or charges to a member's account as appropriate. Washes glasses and other bar equipment. Prepares garnishes for mixed drinks. May help stock service bar or portable bar for catered functions.
Responsible for the proper operation of the bar, receipts, and inventory accountability. Accepts money, operates a cash register, and makes change. Maybe be required to prepare documentation for cash funds accountability.

This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
This position requires the incumbent to satisfactorily pass a pre-employment physical.
This position requires the incumbent to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and or complete food handler's training.
This position requires the incumbent to have resided in the United States for 3 years and reside in the commuting area of the vacancy location.
This position requires the incumbent to be of the appropriate 18 minimum age requirement for working and/or serving alcoholic beverages.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience mixing alcoholic beverages for retail sale.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA's): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Ability to combine ingredients such as liquors, soda water, sugar, bitters, and fruit and the ability to mix exotic drinks.
2. Must be able to recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and to resolve the problem or seek assistance, if needed.
3. Must be able to follow cash handling procedure.
4. Be able to communicate clearly & possess skill in dealing with the public.
5. Knowledge of a wide variety of beverages.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.

U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation or a signed memorandum indicating the installation's decision on the 3-year residency requirement..
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

A probationary period may be required.
Pre-employment requirements must be satisfactorily met prior to Entrance on Duty (EOD).
