Summary This position is located at MWR Community Recreation Division - Physical Fitness Centers - Fort Campbell, KY. This position is eligible for the NAF benefits package and leave accrual. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Duties Cleans rooms, corridors, stairways, and other areas. Sweeps, mops, vacuums, scrubs, strips and polishes using light and heavy duty powered equipment. Operates industrial equipment to clean rugs, drapes, etc. Performs routine maintenance of equipment. Moves heavy furniture and may make beds and changes linen. Cleans, disinfects and deodorizes toilet facilities. Cleans, and dusts assigned areas. Empties trash. Washes walls, windows, blinds and ceiling fixtures using ladders, scaffolds and safety belt. Maintains stock of room and cleaning supplies to perform assigned duties. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of employment Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required. Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position A one-year probationary period may be required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. Subject to satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2. May require completion of a Tier 1 background investigation for issuing of a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities. Must be able to work a schedule that includes rotating shifts, weekdays, weekends, evenings, nights, and holidays. Must meet the physical requirements of the position. Successful completion of a pre-employment physical is required for this position. May be required to lift or push up to 50lbs. Physical Efforts: Required standing and walking or on hard and carpeted surfaces with some bending, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items or carts weighing 20-40 pounds and occasionally over 50 pounds. Working Conditions: Work is usually performed indoors in areas that have adequate heat, light, and ventilation. Exposed to dirt and disagreeable odors, vibration from use of heavy equipment, and to skin irritations from strong cleaning solutions. Careful use of ladders, when moving heavy furniture, and using heavy powered equipment is required to avoid injury. Qualifications Resumes must be two pages (or less). Qualification Requirements are: Must have knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties listed above to include: Maintaining the tools and equipment of the trade Keeping assigned work area neat & clean Communicating both orally and in writing Applicants meeting the following will be considered Highly Preferred: Possess the ability to follow instructions and read signs. Possess Basic knowledge and experience of common cleaning solvents, cleaning tools, and equipment. Possess Knowledge and experience properly using a variety of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions and the ability to remove different kinds of stains from a wide variety of surfaces. ***Applicants that meet the Highly Preferred criteria will be referred to management for consideration first.
