Summary
The USPS OIG is seeking a highly qualified applicant to fill our Government Relations Analyst position in the Office of General Counsel located in Arlington, VA. As a member of the OIG's Government Relations team, you will be responsible for informing and educating Congress and key stakeholders about the critical oversight activities performed by the USPS OIG under the Inspector General Act. Conditions of Employment
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be able to pass a drug screening and medical assessment questionnaire.
- Must be able to pass a background investigation
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Moderate Background Investigation security clearance
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a government-issued credit card
- May be required to successfully complete a 12-month probationary period
Qualifications
You must meet ALL of the minimum qualifications listed below.
- At least four (4) years of specialized experience working for a Member of Congress or a congressional committee, or as a government relations or public policy professional with a non-governmental organization, industry association, or private sector business.
- Knowledge of the mailing, shipping and logistics industry.
- Knowledge of the Postal Service and Inspector General authorities.
- Team-oriented with ability to meet competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency with technology such as Microsoft Office, Teams, Apps, Excel and SharePoint.
You must have the experience, knowledge and skills as listed in EACH of the evaluation factors. Failure to demonstrate that you meet all of the evaluation factor requirements as listed below will result in a score of zero (0); an ineligible status, and you will not be referred for further consideration. Include your major accomplishments relevant to the position requirements in your resume.
- Expertise in the legislative process and Congress.
- Experience interacting with members of Congress and their staff.
- Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills, including experience providing briefings or presentations to management officials, executives, and/or agency leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to serve as a subject matter expert and convey complex information to the agency's management officials on high visibility projects.
Failure to demonstrate that you meet all evaluation factor requirements will result in a score of zero (0). Upon receipt of a zero score, you will be deemed "not minimally qualified," and you will not be referred for further consideration.
