Job Description
Summary
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This is a military technician position with the 99th Readiness Division, Area Maintenance Support Activity (AMSA) 160 located at Londonderry, New Hampshire.
Duties
Conduct Inspections
Troubleshoot electrical equipment issues
Diagnose malfunctions
Make repairs to electrical equipment
Make final operational tests
Replace electrical items
Provide guidance on electrical equipment

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
THIS POSITION REQUIRES ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP AS A SOLDIER IN THE U.S. ARMY RESERVE (USAR).
This position requires a valid State Driver's license.
This position requires a pre-employment physical.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Electronics Mechanic ~ without more than normal supervision. To meet the screen out element, applicants should document experience or show the ability to do the following: perform common inspections of electronic equipment, use test equipment to diagnose malfunctions, troubleshoot to determine cause of malfunction. Complete repairs of electronic equipment using hand and power tools. Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.??????
Physical Effort Required: Frequently lifts subassemblies or small weapons weighing 15 to 20 pounds. Often carries large assemblies or weapons weighing up to 50 pounds. Work requires walking, bending, and long periods of standing.
Working Conditions: Works in shop buildings that are well lighted, heated, and ventilated. Stands on concrete floors or other hard surfaces for long periods. Exposed to oil, grease, and solvents when cleaning and lubricating weapons. Subject to noise when test firing weapons.

Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
One year trial/probationary period may be required.
Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.

Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances may be authorized, subject to the provisions of the Joint Travel Regulations and an agency determination that a PCS move is in the Government Interest.
New Army Reserve Military Technicians may be authorized moving expenses to their first official duty station. To be eligible to receive moving expenses, you must be a newly appointed Federal civilian employee or have a minimum of a 3-day break in service from previous Federal civilian employment.
