Summary
This position is located at Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA),Office of Information Technology. As an IT Specialist (SYSADMIN/OS)(Workstation Administrator), you will provide day-to-day support for IT hardware, software, and applications.

Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
- Serve as a systems administrator for workstations, applications, typically performing a full range of administrative tasks for workstations, services, and applications, including managing services, applications, access controls, testing software, testing hardware, setting policies, configuring and maintaining end user devices (including mobile devices).
- Ensure Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) workstations are secure from vulnerabilities and weaknesses. Evaluates need and compatibility of software patches and updates.
- Troubleshoot issues related to workstations and mobile devices applications and services.
- Evaluate products to further modernize and make the TIGTA environment efficient.
- Conduct briefings and meetings on job- related subjects and provide technical guidance and instruction to all levels of TIGTA personnel.

Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your résumé.
For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience must include:
- Experience using Microsoft Intune, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and/or Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM); and
- Working on projects through the conception, design and development of integrated computer hardware and software information systems; and
- Providing advice and recommendations to resolve integration issues related to the implementation of new systems; and
- Plan and deliver customer support programs that provide the full range of Information Technology (IT) services to end-users of IT hardware and software throughout the organization.
For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience must include:
- Experience using Microsoft Intune, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM); and/or Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM); and
- Experience working with applications or troubleshooting software issues; and
- Working on an information technology team; and
- Developing policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of information technology services.
For the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience must include:
- Experience using Microsoft Intune, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM); or Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM); and
- Providing user account support to include setup and configuration; and
- Performing systems administration and troubleshooting.
OR
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. Attach a copy of transcript or list of college courses designating semester or quarter hours earned to ensure proper credit.
In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must also show proficiency in 1) attention to detail, 2) customer service, 3) oral communication, and 4) problem solving.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT (CONTINUED):
A one year probationary period may be required. Continued employment is contingent upon supervisory certification that continued employment will benefit the Federal Service; the certification will occur no less than 30 days before the end of the probationary/trial period.
Must successfully complete a background investigation.
Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required.
Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
You will be required to regularly report to the Duty Station listed above. While teleworking is an option, approval is at management's discretion based on duties, business needs, performance, etc.
Submit to a drug test prior to your appointment and random drug testing while you occupy the position.
Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.

Further, all TIGTA employees are subject to an employee tax compliance program to ensure that employees fulfill their personal tax responsibilities.
This position requires that the successful candidate undergo personnel vetting, which includes a background investigation and enrollment upon onboarding into "Continuous Vetting." Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout one's employment with Treasury. The successful candidate will also be enrolled into FBI's Rap Back service, which will allow Treasury to receive notification from the FBI of criminal matters (e.g., arrests, charges, convictions) involving enrolled individuals in near real-time.
