Summary About the Position: This position serves as a Health System Specialist - PEBLO located at IDES Clinic - Fort Drum, New York - Guthrie Army Health Clinics. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Learn more about this agency Duties Provide comprehensive counseling to service members, retirees, and Families benefits, rights, obligations, and processes. Coordinate medical evaluations, follow-up appointments, and medical related care for Active Duty, Reserve, and National Guard personnel. Coordinate reexaminations, including scheduling, data collection, and counseling Prepare and deliver briefings and training sessions to installation leadership, professional development programs, clinical staff, and community forums. Assist military personnel with benefits such as vocational rehabilitation, prosthetics, clothing allowance, aid and attendance, and other VA programs. Requirements Conditions of employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position. This position has mandatory seasonal Influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal Influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire). This position has a travel requirement of 5% of the time to various locations. Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education/experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing automated systems to document case actions; updating electronic records, generating statistical reports, and analyzing data to identify trends for workflow improvement; Scheduling medical evaluation appointments for military personnel; Preparing and delivering briefings and training clinical staff related to program requirements.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. (NOTE: Copy of school transcripts must be attached.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. (NOTE: Copy of school transcripts must be attached.) Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
