Summary Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! Learn more about this agency Duties What are we looking for?Assists in planning, coordinating, and directing the Outdoor Adventures Program within Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) Camp Lejeune- New River. Program areas may include but are not limited to social, cultural, athletic, special interest clubs, instructional classes, and outdoor programs.May assist the Outdoor Recreation manager in supervising recreational equipment issue operations and Recreational Shooting Programs.Ensure facilities and structures are safe, well maintained and prepared for activities or events.Manage special events and Outdoor Adventures trips. Lead and/or instruct recreation activities, demonstrate procedures common to activity and instruct in the use of related equipment.Supervise and instruct outdoor recreation programs to military families and personnel: fishing, kayaking, paddleboard, rock climbing, camping, archery, etc. Perform other related duties as assigned. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45 lbs with assistance. Requirements Conditions of employment See Duties and Qualifications EVALUATIONS: Qualifications What are we looking for?Three years' experience that demonstrates knowledge of the basic principles and experience in planning and conducting a variety of recreational/outdoor community activities.Knowledge of repair and maintenance of a variety of recreation equipment is preferred.Knowledge of basic computer skills.Required to obtain either an American Red Cross CPR and First Aid certification or the Wilderness First Responder Certification, and Range Safety Officer certification within 3 months of employment.Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.Must obtain forklift and Archery Level 1 Instructor Trainer certifications within 1 year of employment.This is a "covered position" for the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act.  DD Form 2760 required.  Continuing obligation to report qualifying convictions.  This is a non-critical sensitive position requiring successful completion and maintenance of a Tier 3 background investigation.
