Summary
This position is located in the Strategic Information Division of the Office of the Chief Policy Officer. The Supervisory Security Specialist serves as a first level supervisor over a staff of Security Specialists who perform security functions and activities conducted throughout the DFC. The position is responsible for the formulation and application of security policy, procedures, systems, and programs in physical, information, industrial, and operational security.

Duties
As a Supervisory Security Specialist, you will:
Serve as the DFC expert consultant on physical, information, industrial, personnel and operational security matters.
Develop and implement the DFC's Occupant Emergency Plan (OEP) and Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) with security specialists, as well as internal and external customers, both locally and abroad.
Direct security program functions to assure compliance with agency and Federal policies and establishes guidance for internal and external activities.
Coordinate and liaise security matters with the staff of other DFC offices and make decisions which significantly impact national and international security as it relates to the DFC mission.
Serve as a first level supervisor over a staff of Security Specialists who perform security functions and activities conducted throughout the DFC.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all eligibility and qualification requirements no later than the closing date of this announcement.
You may qualify at the GS-14 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirements:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your experience in all of the following:
Training security staff on how to review and evaluate adjudicative reports of investigation for individuals seeking National Security positions, to determine eligibility to access classified information;
Managing a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) or handling classified documents; and
Leading an organization's physical security program.
Note: Education is not substitutional at this grade level.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
