Hours:  Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm Position Overview: Are you a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with a passion for gastroenterology? The Toledo Clinic is seeking a full-time dedicated professional to join our gastroenterology practice. In this role, you will play a crucial part in diagnosing, treating, and managing health issues, while working closely with our experienced physicians and providing top-notch patient care. Key Responsibilities: Patient Care: Obtain comprehensive medical histories, diagnose, and treat health conditions and chronic diseases, and provide evidence-based treatments. Diagnostic & Treatment:  Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including lab tests and imaging, to facilitate accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Medication Management:  Prescribe medications and other therapeutic interventions as needed to manage patient conditions effectively. Patient Education:  Promote health and wellness by educating patients about their conditions, treatment options, and self-care practices. Collaboration:  Work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective patient care. Wellness Emphasis:  Advocate for preventative care and wellness, supporting patients in managing their health proactively. Research & Best Practices: Research medical findings and studies and incorporate relevant findings into patient care strategies. Cost Management:   Select cost-effective diagnostic and treatment options to ensure quality care while considering financial implications. Additional Duties:  Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall functioning and goals of the practice. Supervision Exercised: Provide direction and oversight to staff regarding patient care practices and clinical procedures. Performance & Experience Requirements: In-depth knowledge of nurse practitioner or physician assistant theory, practice, and medical care. Proficiency in using medical equipment and adhering to OSHA regulations. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong ability to analyze patient needs and provide effective solutions. Demonstrated reliability in arriving at work punctually, in professional attire, and completing tasks within established time frame. Education & Certification:  Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies. Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with current CPR certification required.
