About the Position: This position is with the U.S Army Sustainment Command, 404th Army Field Support Base, Logistics Readiness Center, Plans and Operations Division, located in JBLM, WA. Learn more about this agency Requirements Conditions of Employment This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time. Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain appropriate Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level 2 baseline Certification within 6 months of entry into the position. Qualifications This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1.) Providing technical support to users for hardware, software, and network issues. 2.) Troubleshooting and/or resolving IT problems through various methods such as remote assistance, phone support, or in person visits. 3.) Documenting and/or tracking issues and/or resolutions in an automated system. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). In addition to specialized experience, you must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. OR Education: successfully completed a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, two full years of graduate education from an accredited or pre-accredited institution that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks.
