Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
Occasional weekend and evening work may be required.
Qualifications
For the GS-07: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) experience working in exhibit design and fabrication, 2) knowledge of the principles, concepts, and methodology of the exhibit design and construction occupation that meets American Alliance of Museum's standards, 3) experience using Adobe Suites software, specifically In-design, Photoshop, Illustrator, and AutoCAD, and 4) use of artifact conservation techniques, and museum collections management.
For the GS-09: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
Education
The following may be substituted in lieu of the specialized experience:
GS-07:
- 1 full year of graduate level education
or
- Superior academic achievement
GS-09:
- Master's or equivalent graduate degree in a related field
or
- 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a related field
or
- LL.B. or J.D., if related
