Two of these positions are located in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and one position is located in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. The District of Wyoming encompasses a large and diverse geographical area of 97,914 square miles and a population of 588,283. Learn more about this agency Duties Criminal Division AUSAs prosecute federal crimes committed in Wyoming, including violent crimes, drug trafficking, child exploitation, fraud and other white-collar offenses, firearms offenses, civil rights offenses, human trafficking, terrorism, public corruption, major crimes committed on the Wind River Indian Reservation, and petty offenses committed on federal property. As federal prosecutors, AUSAs advise law enforcement during investigations, make charging decisions, appear before the grand jury, research and write motions and other criminal pleadings, conduct hearings and jury trials, and defend convictions on appeal and collateral review. The office has three openings for experienced prosecutors to serve as an AUSA in the Criminal Division; two openings are available in our Cheyenne office location and one opening is available in our Yellowstone National Park office.
