Summary This position is located within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Procurement, Acquisition, and Logistics (OPAL), National Acquisition Center, Denver Logistics Service (DLS), in Golden, Colorado. The position is assigned within the Veteran Services Division (VSD). Learn more about this agency Duties ***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Serves in the capacity as the Veterans Services Support Technician and as the frontline representative responsible for the placement of all orders received from clinics and Veterans at the Denver Logistics Service. Performs varying duties such as tracking spreadsheets for order card and phone call workload, credit card reconciliation, and miscellaneous office procedures. Communicates verbally and in writing with customers, via email and/or written correspondence. Provides courteous and professional costumer service to VA Clinicians and Veterans over the phone; addresses issues and answers questions regarding Veterans orders. Uses and operates various office machines, e.g. personal computers, printers, calculators, scanners, phone system. Qualifications You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: experience providing administrative and customer support services; including processing customer requests or orders, reviewing information for accuracy and timeliness, maintaining records or tracking data, and communicating effectively with customers or staff to answer questions and resolve issues. IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: The work requires walking, standing, bending, lifting, and carrying of light items, such as food trays, instruction materials, books, and manuals. Frequently lifts or moves objects weighing up to 20 pounds and pushing loaded carts of trays and/or nourishments; may be necessary to lift and/or push equipment.Requires long periods of sitting and moving about in an office environment, including repetitive motion activities of the hands and fingers for extensive keyboard and computer mouse use, and office tasks. Receiving Service Credit for Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee.
