Job Description

Summary Serves as a Supervisory Program Specialist responsible for leading and directing electrical and mechanical technicians in support of propulsion test activities at NASA's Stennis Space Center. Plans and prioritizes work assignments, allocates tasks based on project requirements, evaluates technician performance, and identifies training and development needs to ensure employees maintain technical proficiency and support safe, effective test operations. Learn more about this agency Duties Plans and schedules work for electrical and mechanical technicians, establishing and adjusting short-term priorities to support propulsion test activities at Stennis Space Center. Assigns work based on project priorities, task complexity, and the skills and capabilities of assigned technicians. Evaluates the performance of electrical and mechanical technicians and provides constructive feedback. Administers minor disciplinary actions, such as issuing warnings or reprimands, and recommends more serious measures when warranted. Identifies employee training and development needs and provides or arranges appropriate training opportunities. Qualifications Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level: Leading a team of technicians performing fabrication, maintenance, or operation of mechanical or electrical systems in support of operations or testing activities; Planning, assigning, and coordinating work based on priorities, workload, and employee capabilities to support operational objectives; Assisting in the development and providing feedback to support employee development and improve workforce capability.
