Summary This position is located at US Mint,Manufacturing Directorate - Philadelphia - Die Manufacturing Division. As a Die Finishing Specialist, you will be setting up, operating, and maintaining a number of automated machine tools to auto-polish dies in the production of proof coins. Duties As a Die Finishing Specialist, you will: Operate and maintain a number of automated machine tools to auto-polish dies in the production of proof coins. Perform laser frosting operations and coating operations using the Particle Vapor Deposition (PVD) process. Perform automated and manual die finishing work for the production of proof coins. Requirements Conditions of employment All employees must wear face masks while on MINT property when required by CDC and Federal guidelines. All newly appointed employees to the competitive (or excepted) service are subject to a probationary (or trial) period. During this time, your performance, conduct, and suitability for continued employment will be evaluated. You will not automatically convert to permanent status at the end of the probationary (or trial) period. Your supervisor must affirmatively determine that continued employment is in the best interest of the Federal service.
