Learn more about this agency Duties Participates in design and planning review conferences with A-E firms/designers and contractors to proactively identify and resolve construction challenges. Reviews project documentation prior to contract award to ensure constructability, material availability, and accurate anticipation of potential obstacles. Facilitates kickoff meetings to communicate requirements regarding scheduling, reporting, safety, labor compliance, and documentation. Investigates and analyzes design changes, differing site conditions, or other applicable changes. documentation for contract modifications. Develops detailed cost estimates, impact assessments to the construction cost and schedule, and prepares supporting documentation for contract modifications. Provides recommendations to supervisors regarding proposal acceptance, negotiation strategies, and utilization of contingency funding. Coordinates construction planning and scheduling with contractors and using agencies. Reviews and approves contractor-submitted schedules and quality control plans. Ensures adherence to contract specifications regarding materials and methods and verifies the accuracy of contractor records pertaining to work completed and materials utilized. Monitor construction progress, ensuring accurate daily reporting and proper documentation is maintained in the Government system of record. Monitors contractor operations to ensure full compliance with wage and hour laws, labor regulations, and all applicable safety requirements (specifically EM 385-1-1 and contractual safety stipulations). Reviews and approves the safety plan, conducts regular site inspections, documents safety recommendations, and tracks corrective actions. Serves as the primary point of contact for using agencies within the district, providing support to facilitate the timely completion of facilities. Maintains open communication to ensure constructed facilities are functional, sound, and meet the needs of the end-users. This position may require TDY travel up to 15% of the time. This position requires the incumbent to possess and maintain a valid State Driver's License. Specialized Experience: Experienced Project Engineer skilled in managing multidisciplinary construction projects-civil, mechanical, electrical, and architectural. Proven success in handling change orders, ensuring EM 385-1-1 safety compliance, and coordinating with stakeholders to deliver on time and within budget. Adept at applying engineering principles to solve complex construction challenges.
