National Technical Information Service is an agency within the Department of Commerce. This is a bureau that enables the public and American businesses to gain access to vital governmental information. We're looking for Project Managers to join our team! Learn more about this agency Requirements Conditions of Employment U.S. citizenship Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service Suitable for Federal employment Merit applicants must meet time-in-grade/band requirements, as applicable Bargaining Unit Position: Yes Qualifications Basic Requirements To qualify at the GS-11 level: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the federal service. Specialized experience is defined as planning, coordinating, or managing projects or initiatives. or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree. or LL.M., if related. To qualify at the GS-12 level: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the federal service. Specialized experience is defined as planning, coordinating, or managing projects or initiatives; managing project scope, timelines, or deliverables. To qualify at the GS-13 level: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the federal service. Specialized experience is defined as planning, coordinating, or managing projects or initiatives; managing project scope, timelines, or deliverables; and leading cross-functional teams in projects. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The qualification requirements in this vacancy announcement are based on the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook. Education cannot be used to qualify for this position.
