Learn more about this agency Duties Serving as a Contract Compliance Specialist GS-1101-9/11 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. This position is located in the Student Service Division (SSD) under the Mission and Readiness Support Directorate (MRSD) in Glynco, Georgia. The primary purpose of this position is to plan and exercise management control and to provide administration and quality assurance functions of assigned on-going service contracts. Typical duties include: Providing management support for assigned contracts after satisfactory completion of Contracting Officer Representative (COR) certification in accordance with all Federal, Department and local laws and regulations. Investigating customer complaints and determining appropriate courses of action and resolutions. You qualify at the GS-11 grade level if you possess one of the following: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates the experience planning and developing procurement related documents; performing property management duties with regards to assigned contracts, including complying with policies, programs, regulations and procedures for the management and safekeeping of government-furnished property; establishing inspection schedules and performing on-site inspections to ensure compliance with specifications, acceptable output and adherence to safety measures; OR A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related to the work of the position being filled; OR A combination specialized experience and graduate education as described above. Background Investigation: To ensure the accomplishment of our mission, the FLETC requires every employee to be reliable and trustworthy. To meet those standards, all selected applicants must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation as a condition of placement in this position. Physical Demands: In addition to work performed at a desk, the incumbent is involved in frequent stooping, bending and walking to perform inspections and witness contractor performance. Work Environment: The work is performed in a typical office setting but involves visits to contractor work sites as well as maintenance shop activities. Heat, dirt and dust are present at these facilities and require the use of safety equipment such as boots and glasses. This position may be filled at the GS-9 or GS-11 level. If selection is made at the GS-9 level, promotion to the GS-11 level may occur without further competition.
