This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport. Qualifications Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by: -Experience applying various accounting, budget and other financial management laws, regulations, and requirements to ensure compliance and recommend action. -Experience assembling, reviewing, and maintaining complex accounting, budget, and other fiscal transactions. -Experience verifying the validity of cash items, required supporting documents, and processing procedures. -Experience reviewing employee pay and leave, regulations, procedures, programs and systems that affect pay. This position is within the Work Category PROFESSIONAL at Work Level ENTRY/DEVELOPMENTAL, Series and Grade GG-0501-09. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education SUBSTIUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree; or Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a master's degree; or Possession of an LL.B. or J.D., if related to this position being filled. COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements for the position.
