Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation. About the Position: Serves as a senior project manager for a program segment of work assigned to the Military Branch. The work involves the design and construction of projects in support of other Department of Defense agencies (e.g., Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps). The program authorities are established at agency arid/or congressional levels, with diverse funding requirements, and varied policies, (e.g. MILCON and BRAC). Learn more about this agency Duties As program manager, the incumbent is responsible for program quality and goals, timely action on program directives, budget and cost schedules, and development of appropriate management controls to achieve quality products, on time and within cost. As the senior project manager, the incumbent manages the most significant and highly controversial projects as measured by their diversity, geographical area, management demands, technical intricacies, and environmental and public issues. Identifies and resolves sensitive issues and critical problems. Using diplomacy, discusses major issues, problems and trends with other organizational elements to develop effective solutions to problems and obtain corporate consensus on significant issues for successful execution of the assigned projects. Confers with key representatives from outside agencies to obtain information and data concerning assigned program and projects. Mediates and adjudicates problems that impede project or program execution in forums that reside outside of the PRB process. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
