Summary
Employee will be assigned to Social Work Service (SWS), VA Healthcare System Salt Lake City, UT. Duties will focus on the Food Pantry and administrative duties for the Homeless Programs aligned under the service.
Duties

Duties include, but may not be limited to the following:
Performs the administrative duties for programs aligned under SWS with the main focus on the Food Pantry and the administrative need for the Homeless Program teams.
Reviews guidance, policies, and procedures to maintain regulatory compliance as set by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the VA.
Interprets administrative policies, develops and/or implements local policies, formats standard operating procedures, and creates standard work while providing advice to management on issues related to the Food Pantry and Homeless Programs.
Monitors data collection processes ensuring data integrity and completeness for both the Food Pantry and the Homeless Programs.
Serves as a purchase card holder for the service.
Performs the planning, managing, and executing of the budget for the Food Pantry and the Homeless Programs.
Gathers information and analyzes changing needs, workload, supply utilization, and equipment for assigned programs.
Works closely with Quality, Compliance, and Accreditation experts to keep up to date with changing regulatory and accreditation requirements for assigned programs.
Performs audits as necessary for continued accreditation, conducting the review and assembling data for assigned programs.
Prepares project and statistical reports for review process for assigned programs and performs data analysis from a variety of sources, including databases and spreadsheets, and conceives and writes reports as needed.
Maintains the timekeeping system for assigned programs and serves as a backup timekeeper for SWS.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm.

Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped them with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-9 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes: performing the administrative functions of a program/project; developing and implementing policies/procedures; planning, managing, and executing a budget; collecting and analyzing data; and utilizing a variety of computer applications to prepare correspondence and reports.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE (Transcript Required) - Applicants must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three (3) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. This education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position.

COMBINING EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (Transcript Required) - Combination of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements.
Physical Requirements: The work is generally sedentary although there is occasional need for walking, standing, bending, and carrying light items such as notebooks, papers, or incidental office supplies/equipment. No excessive physical demands are required to perform the work, but the employee must be able to move about freely to various locations throughout the medical center. Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds.

Receiving Service Credit for Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee.
